市面上流传的GRE阅读机经真题有三百多篇，同时又存在多种版本的答案和解析，有些疑难题目让考生不知道听谁的，还有些版本的解析像是用谷歌翻译把同题目和选项翻译了一下。TD GRE教研组认为，GRE阅读的解析，可以像“真题捕手”小程序上现有的SAT真题解析一样，讲得再清楚一点。

有感于此，我们尝试用比较长的时间，原创一个解析，力求做到超详细，大白话，包你懂。之前为大家推送了Passage 1 – Passage 5的解析，今天继续为大家推出Passage 6的解析，这篇阅读一共有5句话，带2道题，TD版超详细「包你懂」系列对此篇文章进行了清楚地解析。

Passage 6

Although some skeptics points to Arctic places such as the high latitudes of Greenland, where temperatures seem to have fallen, a recent scientific report concludes that in recent decades average temperatures have increased faster in the Arctic than elsewhere. Scientists have long suspected that several factors lead to greater temperature swings at Earths polar regions than elsewhere. First, most of the Arctic is covered in snow and ice, which are highly reflective; if snow and ice melt, the exposed soil, which absorbs heat, serves to accelerate warming. Second, the polar atmosphere is thin, so little energy is required to warm it. Third, less solar energy is lost in evaporation at the frigid poles than in the tropics.

第一句话：

白话版讲解：

尽管有些人用“北极内部分地区（如格林兰岛的高纬度地区）气温（过去几十年）似乎在下降”这个事情，对“过去几十年北极地区平均气温增速比地球其他地区快”这个观点表示怀疑，一份最近的科研报告还是给出了“过去几十年北极地区平均气温增速比地球上其他地区快”这个观点。

注解：
point to sth. 为了支持某个论点而提到某事

例句：
I can point to several past accomplishments that show that I can perform the job well.
我可以说出几个我过去做成的事，这几个事可以说明我可以干好这个工作。

第二句话：

Scientists have long suspected that several factors lead to greater temperature swings at Earths polar regions than elsewhere.

白话版讲解：

科学家们一直推测，地球北极和南极气温的摆动幅度比地球上其他地区大，是由几个原因导致的。

第三句话：

First, most of the Arctic is covered in snow and ice, which are highly reflective; if snow and ice melt, the exposed soil, which absorbs heat, serves to accelerate warming.

白话版讲解：

第一个原因是，北极地区大部分地表都覆盖着冰雪，冰雪反射热能的能力强（所以冰雪存在的时候，北极地区气温就很低）；一旦地表的冰雪覆盖，露出土壤来，土壤的特性跟冰雪相反，它吸热的能力强，这就会加快气温变暖的进程。

第四句话：

白话版讲解：

第五句话：

白话版讲解：

第三个原因是，和热带比起来，北极和南极地区因水分蒸发而损失的太阳能要少一些。

全文回顾

最后我们回顾一下全文，发现就这个passage来说，第一句话的前半句话其实是一个枝蔓，第一句话的后半部分加上第二句话到第五句话是passage的主体。如果出一道修辞功能题，问passage的primary purpose，答案就应该是“介绍一个现象及科学家认为导致该现象的几个原因。”

题目解析

A选项说“格林兰岛出现异常气温变化的可能性，比北极其他地区要小。”文章没有提到。

B选项说“那些更限于北极地区局部（指格林兰岛部分地区）的气温下降现象是一个蛮重要的气温变化（小）趋势，这个（小）趋势并没有被（给出那份报告的科学家所主张存在的）整个北极地区平均气温在上升的（大）趋势给capture到。”其中，capture作动词，意思是（用文字、图片）正确记录（或表达）”。那些持怀疑态度的人，就是想说，“你们说北极整体气温在上升，还说上升速度比其他地方快，我们有个小疑问，那格林纳兰岛算北极地区吧，格林兰岛高纬度地区气温在下降啊，你们好像没有注意到啊，你们漏记（capture）了”。所以B选项正确。

注解：
localize vt. 使局部化（这个动词不常用，常用的是形容词，localized，意思为“局部的”）

例句：
Symptoms include localized pain and numbness.
症状包括局部疼痛和麻木。

C选项说“格林兰岛高纬度地区，可能有一个气温变化趋势的逆转。”误选此选项的同学可能是因为误解了什么叫a reversal of ……the temperature trend。这个选项的意思实际是“格陵兰岛高纬度地区，以前气温上升，后来气温转为下降”或“格陵兰岛高纬度地区，以前气温下降，后来气温转为上升”。这才叫“a reversal of ……the temperature trend”。文章显然没有这样说。而“北极其他地方在上升，格林兰岛在下降”，这不是reversal。通俗一点说：自己的变动方向跟自己过去不一样，叫reversal；自己的变动方向和别人的变动方向不一样，不叫reversal。

D选项说“导致格林兰岛高纬度地区气温变化的几个因素跟北极地区其他地方，不同。”文章没有提到。

E选项说“格林兰岛地表的冰雪比北极地区其他地方要多。”文章没有提到。
