雅思口语Part 2 朋友做过的趣事

1.Describe something interesting that your friend has done but you’ve never done before

You should say:

What it was
Where your friend did it
When your friend did it
And explain why it was interesting

One of my friends had an incredible experience that I’ve never dared to try—she went skydiving in New Zealand. During her summer vacation last August, she traveled to Queenstown, a city famous for its adventure sports and breathtaking landscapes. Wanting to do something truly unforgettable, she decided to challenge herself by jumping from a plane at an altitude of 4,000 meters.

Before the jump, a professional instructor provided detailed safety instructions and guided her through the process. Although she initially felt a mix of excitement and fear, there was no turning back once the plane reached the right altitude. As the door opened and the wind rushed in, her heart raced, but with the instructor strapped behind her, she took the leap. The first few seconds of free fall were terrifying, yet as she adjusted to the sensation, a surge of adrenaline took over. Instead of fear, a sense of exhilaration set in, making the experience unlike anything she had ever felt before.

What fascinated me the most was how she described the view from above. With the parachute deployed, she had a few peaceful minutes to take in the stunning scenery, snow capped mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and endless green valleys stretching beneath her. It was as if she were floating in a dream, far removed from the worries of everyday life.

Hearing about her adventure made me realize how thrilling yet terrifying skydiving must be. While the idea of jumping out of a plane seems daunting, I admire her courage and ability to push her limits. It’s an experience that I find both inspiring and intimidating, and though I’m not sure if I’d ever try it myself, her story has certainly made me consider it.

雅思口语Part3

1.Are people influenced more by their friends or their parents?

It depends on a person’s age and life stage. When people are young, parents have a stronger influence because they shape their values and behavior. However, as people grow older, friends become more important since they share similar interests and experiences. For example, teenagers often adopt fashion trends, hobbies, or even opinions from their friends. That being said, major life decisions, such as career choices or moral beliefs, are still largely shaped by parental guidance. In the end, both play essential roles in shaping a person’s character, but at different times in life.

2.Are people influenced by famous people?

Yes, celebrities and influencers have a significant impact, especially on young people. Many follow their lifestyles, fashion choices, or even opinions on social issues. Social media makes this influence even stronger, as people see updates from famous figures every day. However, while some celebrities promote positive values, such as hard work or charity, others may encourage unrealistic beauty standards or unhealthy habits. People should be mindful of the influence they absorb and learn to think critically rather than blindly following trends.

3.Do you think more and more people become more self-centered?

Yes, it seems that modern society encourages individualism more than before. Many people focus on personal success, social media presence, and self-improvement rather than community or family values. Technology also plays a role, as people spend more time on their phones rather than interacting with others. However, this doesn’t mean everyone is self-centered—there are still many who care about others and contribute to society. Finding a balance between personal growth and social responsibility is important in today’s world.

4.Why are there many self-centered people?

There are several reasons for this. First, modern lifestyles prioritize personal achievements, making people focus more on their own goals rather than collective well-being. Second, social media creates a culture of self-promotion, where people constantly share their successes and seek validation. Lastly, urbanization and busy work schedules make people less connected to their communities, reducing their sense of responsibility toward others. Despite this, many still recognize the importance of kindness and empathy, and small efforts can help build a more connected society.

5.What have you learned from your friends?

I've learned a lot from my friends, especially in terms of social skills and personal growth. For example, some have taught me how to handle difficult situations calmly, while others have introduced me to new hobbies or perspectives. One of my closest friends is very optimistic, and being around her has helped me develop a more positive outlook on life. Friends can influence the way we think, act, and even make decisions. Having good friends allows us to grow as individuals while also providing support during tough times.

6.Who do you think would prefer to try new things, young people or old people?

Young people are generally more open to new experiences because they are curious and eager to explore. They tend to embrace new technology, travel more, and experiment with different hobbies. On the other hand, older people are usually more set in their ways and may be less willing to step out of their comfort zones. However, this isn’t always the case—some older individuals love trying new things, especially after retirement when they have more free time. Ultimately, a person’s attitude matters more than age when it comes to exploring new opportunities.
