一提到听力lecture，同学们一般各有各的头痛点，但是只要提到Arts，在座的各位一定都是咬牙切齿。而偏偏艺术类的讲座，涵盖的内容又十分之广泛，从音乐舞蹈到话剧电影再到绘画雕塑，所谓是只有你想不到，没有ETS考不到的。

但是说回来，万变不离其宗，艺术类讲座考察的往往是以下这三个层面：

一、艺术家及艺术形式
二、艺术史
三、艺术理论及保护

这三类无论难度高低，同学们首先要确保的是对艺术史能有一个通达的理解，否则当遇到艺术理论的时候就会手足无措。

今天我们主要来研究一下古罗马和古希腊的雕刻艺术：

古罗马艺术 Ancient Roman Art

古罗马艺术是指从公元前2世纪后期到公元4世纪末古罗马及其殖民地的艺术。与整个古罗马文明一样，其艺术来源于异族，大部分应归功于希腊人、埃特鲁斯坎人（the Etruscans）和埃及人。

尽管古罗马艺术深受希腊艺术（Hellenic Art）影响或仅仅是模仿古希腊艺术，但古罗马艺术风格仍很明显，尤其是在肖像画和浮雕方面。

Ancient Roman Art refers to the art of ancient Rome and its colonies from the late 2nd century BC to the end of 4th century AD. Like the whole ancient Roman civilization, its art originated from other nations, and most of it is attributed to the Greeks, the Etruscans and the Egyptians. Although ancient Roman art was deeply influenced by Hellenic art or merely imitated ancient Greek art, the style of ancient Roman art was still obvious, especially in portraits and reliefs.

而听力中最常考到的关于古希腊、古罗马的就是雕塑作品或特点。

在整个西方美术传统中，古希腊雕塑占有十分重要的地位。希腊艺术是理想主义的、简朴的、强调共性的、典雅精致的，用外在的形式表现内在的力量，西方美术崇尚的典范模式可以说都是从古希腊开始的。

古希腊悠久的神话传说是古希腊雕塑艺术的源泉，也是古希腊雕塑的题材，是希腊人对自然与社会的美丽幻想，他们相信神与人具有同样的形体与性格，因此，古希腊雕塑参照人的形象来塑造神的形象，并赋予其更为理想更为完美的艺术形式。

In the whole western art tradition, ancient Greek sculpture occupies a very important position. Greek art is idealistic, simple, common, elegant and exquisite. It uses external forms to express internal strength. The models advocated by Western art can be said to have started from ancient Greece. Ancient Greek myths and legends are the source of ancient Greek sculpture art, and also the theme of ancient Greek sculpture. They believe that God and human have the same body and character. Therefore, ancient Greek sculpture refers to the image of man to shape the image of God, and endows it with a more ideal and perfect art form.
