As a student, I get a lot of homework everyday. Homework has become a big part of my life.

Teachers give us all kinds of homework. Different subjects will have different sort of homework. For Chinese and English, we need to read a lot. As for math, we need to do textbook exercises.

In my own point of view, the advantage of homework is it can help undisciplined student to spend more time on their studies. However, sometimes homework may take too much time of student’s daily life, they barely have time for their hobbies or work out. This is not good for student’s all-around development(全面发展).

In a word, a proper amount of homework may more suitable for students.

Fred was really happy when he opened his birthday present. He has wanted this present for months. It was a cute puppy.

Few months ago, when Fred asks his mother for this present, his mother said to him: “If you can prove that you are a responsible boy, I will give you a little puppy for your birthday.”

“How can I prove I’m responsible？”Fred thought. He got an idea. Fred decided to do all the housework to show his mother that he can take responsibility. He did the laundry, but he dyed them all red with a pair of red socks. Then he tried to do the dishes, but he accidentally broke all the dishes into pieces. “What else can I do?” Fred thought. He mowed lawns until they were bare. He took out the trash but made the trash everywhere.

Fred’s mother gave him this cute little puppy as a birthday present a few days before his real birthday. “Just stop doing the responsible things，”his mother said.

To get information about the history of the town, the boy can watch a documentary about this town’s history. He can look for information online or in the library. He can also go to the local museum or visit the local historical sites (名胜古迹) to find some information. Asking his grandparents and look at their old photo album also can help him.

Among all the things he can do, I think the best way is go to the local museum. Because there are a lot of authentic antiques in the museum, those things are more reliable and believable than books or movies.

1. I enjoy studying history at school. Because I think learning about the history, especially the history of our own country can help students become more patriotic(爱国的).

2. I like watching TV programmes about history. I think I can learn a lot of things from this kind of programmes.

3. I like visiting historical places, especially castles. I think these places are mysterious and fascinating.

4. I think learning things on my own is better. Because every student has their own learning habits and pace, studying together will interfere ourselves and others.
