Currencies of the world
In the UK the currency [货币] is pounds [英镑]; in America it is the dollar [美元]; in
much of Europe it’s the euro [欧元]; in China it is the Yuan [人民币].
Note and Coins
货币通常有Note [纸币]和Coin [硬币]两种形式。
1 pound [英镑]= 100 pence [便士，单数形式为：penny]
1 dollar [美元]=100 cents [美分，单数形式为：cent]
注意：Cheque and check appear in British English, and check appears in American English.
When I went to university, I had to get a student loan to pay my fees. That meant I had to be careful and make sure I didn’t waste money, but by the time I finished my degree I owed a lot. One good thing is that I don’t have to pay it back until I get a job and I’m earning a reasonable amount of money.
